Vermeer, un photographe avant l'heure ?

Quand on connaît les œuvres de Johannes Vermeer, peintre hollandais du 17ème siècle, et son goût prononcé pour l'optique, notamment pour la camera obscura, on comprend que ses peintures étaient déjà un peu le reflet de la photographie.

Il n'y a qu'à regarder ses tableaux. Les touches subtiles de "Hautes lumières" sur les tissus, les décors et les personnages, résultat que seul un appareil photo peut donner, mettent en avant certaines parties du tableau, afin d'attirer notre regard. On peut y voir aussi, chose peu commune pour un tableau de cette époque, une profondeur de champ (Un flou d'arrière plan, et le net sur le devant de la scène), très clairement visible, notamment sur le tableau "l'Art de la peinture". Toute cette technique picturale, est pour moi digne de l'art photographique. Vermeer était un "peintre-photographe", un technicien de l'optique et de la photo avant l'heure !

When we know Johannes Vermeer's paintings (Dutch painter of the 17th century), and his interest for the optics, in particular for the camera obscura, we understand that his paintings were already part of photography. You just have to watch his paintings. The subtle touches of "High lights" on fabrics, decorations and characters, is a result that only a camera can give. The "High Lights" highlight certain parts of the painting, to focus our attention and catch our eye. We can also see, little common thing for a painting of this time, a depth of field (A fuzziness in the background, and the clear on the center stage), very clearly visible, in particular on the painting "The art of painting". All this pictorial technique, deserves for me the title of photographic art.
